My roots.

As a boy I had the generous use of my Father’s firearms but the trips to Mr. Conley’s gun store was my Disneyland.  Vivid case-colored Colts in the display cases, engraved Winchesters hanging above the ivory tusks in the dark gunroom all had my complete attention. This magnificent old man knew I liked beautiful guns and would always bring out something grand from their back storeroom.  One particularly grand something was a pigeon grade Winchester that he let me make payments from mowing yards for what seemed like forever.  My father started me at the age of 12 in local skeet tournaments and NRA Rifle shoots.  Chasing trophies was great but even better, someone always had a fancy new gun at the range.  Firearms, how they work, finding them for my clients, friends and collectors, and along the way meeting and learning from the craftsmen that build the best, has been my life’s passion.

Competing in sporting clays, tactical pistol, long range rifle, box birds, and Columbair, has taken me across the U.S. and abroad. In the fields of Argentina, with rifle Olympians in Finland, and the King's Cup of Spain are some of my greatest memories.  I’ve won a number of championships and have competed as a registered master class in sporting clays.

In sales I’ve been the U.S. rep for Eley of England, gun buyer for Cabelas and Firearms Manager for Sportsman’s Finest, and Tracking Point.   In late 2013 I decided to open my own business and return to where I could spend time with every customer, personally addressing their needs and desires.

I believe my diverse background in firearms gives me a unique ability to best handle whatever application or desire a customer might have.  I look forward to hearing about the gun you are looking for.

I'm an instructor.

I’ve competed in shooting sports for 36+ years and know what it takes mentally and equipment-wise to win.  I realize it is not everyone’s goal to be in master class and I approach each shooter with his or her individual goals and budget in mind.  Maybe you want to be a better wing shooter, improve your game at the annual charity shoot, or enter competition.

It is intimidating for beginners, men, women, and kids alike to enter gun clubs and gun stores and I get that… I promise it won’t be with me.   I’ll get you there and we will have a good time in the process.  Shooting is only fun if you are hitting targets and not getting beaten up in the process.

If you love competing and want to rise to a higher level I know what it takes to get there.  Call me and let’s discuss your goals.

I'm a buyer.

I’m always a buyer and happy to evaluate any firearm or collection for immediate purchase or consignment.  I’m going to tell you what I think it will sell for in the retail market and why.  There are many details that make up the value of a firearm and we will go over them.  It's common for people entering a gun store selling firearms they are not familiar with to fear being ripped-off.  You and I will do this in a comfortable atmosphere - your home or business if you prefer, and without pressure.

I have purchased literally millions of dollars in firearms and treat each client with respect.  I buy all genres.  Have a question about a gun?  Just give me a call.

I'm a fitter.

A gun has to fit for the shooter to be comfortable and successful in hitting targets consistently. How crazy is it to take a gun off the rack and expect it to perform for anyone from a 12 year old girl to a 280 lb man?  It is sad how many shooters I see shoot firearms that bruise their shoulders, cheeks, and that do not align with the target their eyes see.  A gun has to fit the shooter, never the other way around.

What I provide in firearm fitting services is unique in that I’m not just assessing the person’s needs but I am doing the actual work to the gun.  As a lifelong competitor at a master level, I'm able to guide that fit based on proper mount, foot placement, and eye focus.  A shooter can go to the finest fitter in the land but without correct mount fundamentals that fit will be meaningless.  I have done fittings for hundreds of clients and continue to do them for students of master class instructors Jeff Foster, Targetline Academy, Randy Barrington, and Shurely Brothers Custom Firearms.

Ladies, youth, left-handed, and cross-eye dominance are all specialties and have specific needs.  Whether you’re getting your first gun, taking lessons or just want to improve, please call me for a consultation.
